VERSTREPEN.STUDIO
Joris Verstrepen, a Belgian designer born in West-Flanders, is the founder of his eponymous label Verstrepen.studio. He’s part of a rising generation of designers whose creative methods are reshaping the very essence of design practice. Beyond his personal design philosophy, he challenges conventional notions within the field of design. Verstrepen’s ideology is firmly anchored in four fundamental pillars: nature, imperfection, craftsmanship, and the sensory experience. He seeks to delve into various creative realms, including textiles, ceramics, and object design.
In an era where the established linear principles of western culture and economic models are losing relevance, Verstrepen’s work engages with the act and importance of creation. His design journey transcends mere aesthetics, delving into the very essence of our evolving world and the profound transformations taking place within it.

ROBIN BERREWAERTS
Berrewaerts work is situated between furniture and sculpture with a strong emphasis on materiality and craftsmanship. He creates objects that may follow, or deliberately escape, traditional forms and functions.
Material, gestures, and intuition meet to form ideas. The process is physical and energetic. Every movement, every repeated gesture, is a way of searching for the right personality of the object. Working the material is a continuous negotiation. Sometimes repetitive, sometimes almost meditative, the process demands presence in the moment, changing tools, testing textures, following what the material suggests. There is a point where things come together, when texture and shape begin to speak the same language. These moments mark the beginning of many pieces.
Wood remains central to his practice for its diversity in form and condition. Whether sourced directly from a tree or industrially processed, each piece carries its own identity, guiding the process and outcome. Many works incorporate black as a concluding gesture through burning, oxidizing, or painting. This final layer absorbs light and shifts perception, drawing attention first to form and surface, before the material reveals itself.

JULIE SCHEURWEGHS
Scheurweghs (°1988) living and working in Brussels, has had a love for the photographic image from when she was a little girl. After her first Solo Exhibition called ‘Accidentally on purpose’ in Amsterdam in 2012 she quickly made her Belgian solo debut in Knokke and has had numerous solo and group shows since. Scheurweghs’s work is centred around womanhood : what it means to be a woman in this world, motherhood, intimate familie life, the female view. Within these themes Scheurweghs has a fascination with the everyday, often dismissed as mundane. By shifting focus of changing the context, Scheurweghs is able to show a beauty that would otherwise go unseen.
Apart from being a photographer, Julie Scheurweghs is also an avid collector of photographs, both old and new, that have been discarded or even labeled trash. In her work, Scheurweghs uses these decaying images, disconnected from their original owners, as a medium to provide an intimate look into the personal lives of strangers and as a powerful metaphor for the ephemerality of human life.
For Scheurweghs, the beauty in photography is not about framing the object, but in providing the context for the observer to frame his own memories and emotions.

Framed picture print, 3800 euro, 2 pieces available.

GLADYS NAGARE
Archetypical washi-paper art. Born in 1990 in Bangui, Central African Republic, Gladys Nganare spent part of her childhood in Moscow, grew up in France and later settled in Brussels, where she now develops her artistic practice. Self-taught since 2022, she works primarily with Japanese, cotton and linen papers, approaching them as material, surface and structure. Through layering, accumulation, tearing and stitching, she explores fragility, tension and restraint within a rigorous minimalist language. Her work is rooted in silence and interiority, seeking what is essential, precise and true, while allowing subtle variations in texture, light and rhythm to slowly emerge within each paper-based composition.
